Where do you meet?
The meeting point for the tour is at the Lobsterman Statueon the corner of Temple Street and Middle Street, near Nickelodeon Theater at 1 Temple St. and the Temple Street Parking Garage.
What are the tour departure times?
The Portland tour start at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM daily. The tours last approximately 2-3/4 hours.
How do I recognize the guide?
Your Beaten Path Tour guide will be wearing a lanyard that says Beaten Path Tours.
Do I need to make reservations?
Yes, reservations are required. Private tours are also available with reservations.
Where can I get tour tickets?
At this time we do not use tickets. You can print off your confirmation e-mail, although it is not necessary to have this for your tour.
What about bad weather?
Beaten Path Tours will run rain, snow or shine. That being said, it may be slightly altered and we may sometimes seek refuge inside for some of the story telling. If you have booked a tour and wish to change your date and/or time because of the weather, we will be happy to reschedule your tour.
Am I fit enough?
Portland is a city on a hill and the no matter how we try, we will be going up and down the hill from the Waterfront to Downtown. Also the East End is uphill from the Downtown area and we will be walking for much of the time. However, we will be strolling at a leisurely pace and cutting back and forth between streets, so most people should not have any issues with the physical aspect of the city. We will also be walking on cobblestone streets and shoes with heels are not adviseable.
How much do the tours cost?
Each tour costs $20 for Adults. Seniors, Military members and Veterans will get a $3 discount Supervised children, 12 and under may join the tour for no charge. We accept cash, checks and credit and debit card.
Can I bring my dog?
Beaten Path Tours is dog friendly as long as your dog is friendly to all people and other dogs. All dogs must be on a leashes. Please clean up after your dog.
Where can I park?
There are several garages and lots in the city where you can park. Unfortunately, the tour is too long for you to park on the street. The website www.bestparking.com/portland-maine-parking will show you where you can park and the cost of each location.
